ADSET is about information
information about such areas as:
- opportunities for work and learning
- labour markets and demography
- economics and business
- education systems
ADSET researches information in these and associated areas and makes it available in a number of ways:
- the membership scheme provides a regular update of items of interest to careers practitioners (see Membership Services)
member organisations may make use of the Enquiry Service for enquiries on specific
issues
- ADSET publishes a directory of sources of career and lifetime learning information (Opportunity) and a termly newsletter about careers software (Careers Software News) in conjunction with Pete Hulse of ICT in CEG
- a weblog (blog) with an emphasis on news items which will or may affect the advice and guidance which practitioners provide (link here)
- specialist "newsletters" geared to an organisation's requirements for example European legislation on packaging, movement science abstracts from various journals
Hazel Edmunds manages the service from a small office in Kettering, Northamptonshire which she shares with Leonora Clarke of The Accounting Bureau (UK) Ltd.
She is ably assisted by Dawn Taylor who works from her home in Nottingham.
